THE LITTLE RED HEELS’ BLOG

SUPERHEROINES!

Posted in fashion, min by littleredblog on September 26, 2009

Yes, they are amongst us

& fashionably fabulous!

-

Have you caught a glimpse of the cover by now?

-

-

I hope you like it! I personally like it quite a lot. *rubs my ego*

But what I love even more is the redness that is splattered in this series!

Bright tomato red is tres NOW!
(Yes, it’s not just a colour for Lunar New Year.)

There’s so many ways to wear these.

Like our colour exclusive red hot chilli
Crimson Fox Flare Sash Skirt, in the style of Peaches Geldof.
This skirt is an absolute love of mine. I have this skirt in black (from M)phosis), in fuchsia and yellow, and finally decided we should all have this in RED. Definitely not to be missed.

Or if you are a vintage or Balmain fan, we bring you
Aurora Shoulder Brooch Padded TunicRouge Power Shoulder Waisted Top.
The latter is my personal pick ’cause it’s so easy to pair it up to make a past season bottom instantly ‘now’.

And this lovely piece - Wonder Woman Colour Stir Dress!
I kept one for myself and worn it the very same day I got it ’cause it just irresistible!
The psychedelic colour stir fabric is really soft and comfortable, and yes, incredibly pretty.
If you think red isn’t your colour, you don’t have to worry with this colour stir beauty.

-

That’s not just it.

If you are as big as a POLKADOT fan as I am, you will love this collection.

And specifically, this vintage piece I picked out from my mummy’s wardrobe!
It was love at first sight and I just had to reproduce it to share the gorgeousness of it!
Very fabulous, I totally dig this loads.

Lois Lane Vintage Polkadot Dress, exclusively manufactured by LRH

And we also picked up this Chloe inspired scallop hem skirt in POLKADOTS yet again!
Like our self manufactured Lois Lane dress, the fabric is specially selected us for comfort and style.
You will not regret this!

The inspiration of this new series really came from Sandi Thom’s
I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair).
The song kept ringing in my head and I just had to give in to it.

If you haven’t heard this song, you should hear AND watch it (here).
The music video is really pretty interesting. :)

OKAY, the point is, so here we have.

Yeppie, if you can be anything you want.

We share a few of what we could have want to be,
if life is less materialistic and we could just be kids running wild with funny dreams.

Like, the Sailor Girl!

Or maybe,

Naming this ASOS delight the Candyman (or woman)!
You can surround yourself with candies all day long, imagine all the smiling faces. :)

Heh. We included a lot more absurb ones, like Teaparty Lady (think Bree in Desperate Housewives), Cowgirl & Girl Scout (hello boys), Patisserie (yummy), Tooth Fairy (urm yah!), and some others where I don’t even know what they really meant like the Fancy Rocker.

Oh wells, we tried our best. Heh.

Why not you leave us a comment and tell us what you would have want to be if you can anyone or anything in the world! We love to hear from you!

we are launching something!

We are a little obsessed on Chanel lately.
Like everything Chanel seems to catch our eyes.

(7 days to the movie, Coco Before Chanel.)

Like this:

La Vie En Rose

Polyvore is a new website introduced to me by Zi,
and I like it ’cause it’s fashion injected with personal style.
Something we cannot reiterate enough in Little Red Heels.

We have so many things going this week.

A new online launch most definitely.

fashion fades, style remains

Posted in fashion by littleredblog on August 16, 2009

You heard those wise words from every girl’s love, Coco Chanel. This series, Quote Unquote, we did a little tribute to the famous quotations made by this French couturier.

(Speaking of which, hands up those who will be watching the movie, Coco Before Chanel! It will be opened on 27 August, and you can be quite sure to see Zi and I in the theatre.)

We ain’t near couture, but we subscribe dearly to the concept of style. As long as you wear them right and with attitude, nothing anyone says can or should bring you doubts. Carry it with confidence!

Also, you can call it a quarter life thing, but of late, I have been overwhelmed with the thought that,

you should most definitely make yourself feel pretty every single day.

If you want to dress up a certain style, wear it. If you want to buy something, buy it – within reasonable means of course.

Try it, this thought is liberating. Even if it’s just school you are visiting, the usual workplace you are going to, or the same old friends and/or boyfriend you are meeting. Why? Because we are literally at our P R I M E . Why scrimp and/or look the same old when you can be better? Not for people to judge you, but solely for you yourself alone.

Enough of my emo naggings. Because it’s been a while since we blogged (bad, bad), here’s a run down of the the latest trends we like – all in one post.

#3 Stud Up

Studs are never out of fashion and just have that power to make the boring apparel look different. Tip: Studs are great add-ons to store in your drawer. Get those with ‘teeths’ – not only are they easy to hook on but you can also remove them when you don’t want them anymore!

#2 B.V.J Medley

Bring on the blazers, vests and jackets! Particular to blazers, I say it is something that springed off from MJ’s death – which reiterates how style remains.

#1 Power Shoulder

Much to the dismay of some, but the extreme excitement of ours, you know as long as you tread the line of fashion statement well versus gaudy girl from the ’80s, this is going to be really interesting! Not convinced? Try reading this post one month down the road, maybe less.

Growing with Little Red Heels

Posted in media, min by littleredblog on March 30, 2009

I decided to compile some of the very kind features that were done on Little Red Heels from when we first started in 2006. I am sure there are some interviews and especially a video (awkward one with the interviewers speaking in chinese, and us replying in english) out there I missed, but will add them to the new Media section (right) as and when I find them.

The latest interview was with SGentrepreneurs – much thanks to Kim Sia, one of 3 co-founders of spree2shop.com we met at a recent photoshoot, who hooked us up wih Gwen from the aforementioned website.

You can click to read more.

This Omy.sg feature was stumbled upon but a pleasant surprise in any case. Thank you!

Not forgetting our very first feature by Fashion Nation, just 1 month into setting up Little Red Heels. If I remember correctly, they were a fresh fashion blog then, but if you check back Fashion Nation now, they have grown and mature so much. I hope Little Red Heels has grown and not disappoint too!

Harem Pants: I say, get the right fit.

Posted in LRH, fashion, min by littleredblog on March 13, 2009

Update: We have opened a preorder for our Slink Harem Peg Leg Pants. Preorder closes 17 March, 2359hr. Don’t wait till the last moment!

slinkharemblog

Harem pants, also known as genie pants. The style of the ’80s (or some say earlier) is making a big comeback, on fashion editors, on models, on celebs and on fashion runways (Alexander McQueenBetsey JohnsonChloéDiane von FurstenbergHermès, Paul Smith Women, etc).

I do remember it being vaguely in fashion a few years back, ’cause I got one that is similar to the following ASOS Pocket Detail Harem Pants from Topshop then. And I am still wearing them now ’cause it was like a hefty $60-70 odd and I just feel morally obligated to max it out. Yea, till now.

haremgenieasos

That was then, and interestingly, this Spring sees the revival of the above. But what really drawn me is a more updated rendition – much slicker cut, peg leg (otherwise know as skinny cut), and almost high waisted.

For one, it is definitely more flattering than billowing leg cut. Also, more shapely and it’s really more like a classic piece than a fashion piece (as long as you don’t go over the top with the side flaps).

Here’s what we think will get you to pull it off:

1. Unless you are super duper frail thin, match it with a fitted top. Just so you get the curves right, and not look like 2 balloons – top and bottom – from afar. Like in this Kookai Fitted Hem Trousers, carried by ASOS.

kookaiasaoaharem

2. Always match it with heels. You can never go wrong with extra height (except to the beach maybe) – the higher, the better. Vary the shoes to achieve different looks. Oxfords give you a more edgy look. Peep toes like these are more feminine.  Whatever the case, don’t be too flashy with the shoes. Less is more sometimes. Like in this Silence & Noise Side Tap Trouser, carried by Urban Outfitters.

haremurbanout

3. Accessories to be kept simple and minimal. Perhaps I am not overtly adventurous but I always believe in having one main point, or one focal dressing point. If your pants rock socks and your heels match to a T, keep the others simple so that you look like you dressed up effortlessly. Like in this Warehouse Longline Tailored Harem Trousers, carried by ASOS.

HELLO SPRING!

Posted in LRH, min by littleredblog on March 10, 2009

Yes yes! Finally it’s out.

We were keeping our excitement for a while as we redesigned the website and found ourselves a new face for Little Red Heels (she is very cool, more about that later!).

HELLO SPRING is everything upbeat, skippy and nice. The theme name is a first choice for us once someone blurbs it out, as it also implied a new beginning and moving on to the next stage – just what we wanted to bring forth for Little Red Heels. :)

If you haven’t check out the new collection, here it is: www.iloveLRH.com

P.S. Thanks Elaine for very quick email of encouragement. We are feeling the love and motivation! :)
